Farewell and Thanks to Jacob, New Leadership for CSCM Kenya

September 7, 2011 No Comments

Greetings in the Name of our Lord, whose Hands of Mercy extend to each of us every day!
God has used many people through CSCM to be His Hands of Mercy to the children and
widows of Kenya. Even though CSCM is only in its third year, God used CSCM to:
provide for the education and care of nearly 200 impoverished children,
send dozens of short-term missions teams to Kenya,
run a rescue center for many of at-risk orphans,
begin construction of Point of Grace primary school complete with playground,
and establish relationships with communities that hereto did not know the saving grace of
Jesus Christ.
THIS IS MOST CERTAINLY THE LORD’S WORK! To do this work, God has used one
individual in particular to partner with the Meekers to accomplish much of this, Mr. Jacob
Fraher.
Most reading this already know Jacob and have worked with him. But for those new to this
ministry, Jacob is the person who organized the American side of the ministry, saw through
the incorporation, set it up as a recognized 501(c)3 non-profit entity and has taken care of
the day-to-day operations of CSCM since its inception.
His work was truly a labor of love, as he fell in love with the children of Kenya while serving
a term as a teacher in Kibera. There he met with the Meekers, stayed with them and began
a relationship that has been a blessing to all involved.
For His own reasons, God has taken Jacob to a new position in life, moved his family and
brought Jacob to realize that he can no longer serve as Assistant Executive Director. With
some hesitation and many thanks, a new board has accepted his peaceful resignation while
thanking him for all he’s done to build a strong foundation for CSCM.
And now, a new team of volunteers is assuming leadership with the hopes of building on
what God has used Jacob to begin. You may soon be hearing from our new team based in
Seymour, Indiana. Pastor Dan Lepley at Redeemer Lutheran Church, a classmate and close
friend of Pastor and Deaconess Meeker, is helping transition into a new governing board.
Because it will take many to continue to do what Jacob has done, God has blessed CSCM
with a team of professionals who have experience in international treasury and trade,
marketing, website management, corporate management, tax accounting and law to ensure
the work of CSCM now and into the future.
Our phone number will be the same until the end of the year, but our address has already
changed to:
Compassionate Social Care Ministry
-or- CSCM Kenya
504 N. Walnut St.
Seymour, IN 47274
Please send any correspondence and sponsorship related materials to this new address.

We will also be using a new email address, cscmkenya@gmail.com.
Feel free to contact us. We are excited about how God is using so many to be His Hands of
Mercy in Kenya! Blessings!
