Community Support
December 31, 2010 No CommentsProgram Summary. Extended family members, not institutions, care for the vast majority of orphans. CSCM equips widows and extended family members to provide loving home environments for children who have lost their parents.
Facts.
- CSCM works with Deaconess of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kenya to identity children in desperate need.
- Over 90% of orphans live with their extended family members.
Hope for 2011. CSCM frequently identifies families, widows, and children in desperate need of assistance. Due to a sickness in the family or lack of income, mothers and children are struggling to survive. CSCM works through churches and women’s groups to help widows become self sufficient through the provision of cows, goats, fertilizer, seeds, small business support, and counseling. We are searching for people to partner with us to continue transforming the lives of families in need. Consistent funding for the CSCM Community Support Program would ensure an effective response when emergency needs arise.
Get Involved. Our belief is simple; children belong in families. Your partnership allows us to partner with loving families who have decided to stretch their already meager resources to care for orphans in need. These everyday heros need to be strengthened, not weakened; supported, not alienated. Allow CSCM to partner you or your church with a project that strengthens families.
